Why Did the 2008 Political Tsunami Matter?

On 8 March 2008, BN retained the federal government but won only 140 out of 222 seats, losing its two-thirds parliamentary majority for the first time since 1969. Four states changed hands, Kelantan was retained, and Sabah and Sarawak became the key for BN to hold onto the center.
